Does your horse have any physical problem that could be causing a problem behaviour?

  • When were feet last checked?
  • When were teeth last checked?
  • When was back last checked?
  • Has there been any recent lameness or stiffness?
  • Has posture changed?
  • Have there been any digestive issues?

Does your horse have any tack problems?

    Have you recently changed any part of your tack?

  • When was your saddle last checked / fitted?
  • When did you last review the bit that you are using?
  • Have you noticed anything moving when you ride?
  • Does your horse resist being tacked up?

Does you horse have any feed issues?

  • Have you changed feed or feeding routine recently?
  • Does feed match the work that your horse is doing?
  • Is your feed regime mostly cereal or hard feed based? (You should be aiming for as much forage and as little cereal as possible)
